That's why we precision-wind all of our 3-ply synthetic rope ourselves, to a strength exceeding even the U.S. military's exacting specifications and a durability unmatched by any other hammock manufacturer — so you can count on our rope not only to be sturdy enough to hold up you and your family, but also to hold up against the elements as well.
But tough rope alone isn't worth much in a hammock if it's also rough against the skin, which is why we use only quality soft-spun polyester, so you can count on genuine softness — so much so that you may just forget you're reclining in a synthetic and not old-fashioned cotton instead!
Hatteras spreader bars are unfinished cumaru, among the hardest, densest, handsomest woods on Earth. Frequently referred to as Brazilian teak, cumaru naturally ages to a handsome silver-gray.
Hanging chains and hardware are zinc-plated steel, for added support and superior rust protection.
A Hatteras Hammock is designed for long outdoor life. Nonetheless, we strongly advise storing yours in an enclosed dry place during lengthy stretches of adverse weather or when your hammock is going unused, to ensure its longest possible life. Avoid storing near harsh chemicals, or where foraging animals or insects can readily get to it.
Please note: Your own rope hammock is likely at first to appear a little shorter than its advertised length; it will reach its full length once the ropes naturally stretch through initial use.
